Untold Tales of Bigfoot by Vince Dorse

Untold Tales of Bigfoot  is a comic story that I just discovered when I started talking to it’s creator Vince Dorse in a Art collective we are both apart. Vince Dorse is creating a beautiful story with wonderful art work that transports you into a lush land. Bigfoot is a sweet higher primate in search of a friend, the search is captured with talented camera shots and sincerity in its art. Dorse is in control of  every panel he draws, and he draws with confidence. I highly recommend Untold Tales of Bigfoot.

We exchanged fan art and I love the piece he sent me. It so atmospheric and deep, something I try to capture in Road Apples and it is done to perfection here.  Shep and Aldous are wonderfully drawn and it was a joy to see them done in Vince’s clean style. Guest strip at Jeff Couturier’s Horde of Neurons

Monday, Dec. 3rd I will be lucky enough to have done a Guest Strip for my Cartoonist friend Jeff Couturier over at Horde of Neurons . Jeff said it could be about anything and that the rules for his  “Horde”  strip is that there is no rules. My mind was spinning, Anything? So I had to narrow it down, an decided to focus on historic characters, I had a lot of fun ideas but finally settled on one! When your there also check Jeff’s other strip Meager Panic. I love Jeff’s line work and use of black , and its what first attracted me to his work, and his rascally sense of humour  kept me coming back. Jeff also did a guest strip which i just love! Awesome Road Apples Gang Painting by David Scott Smith!

How lucky am I that David Scott Smith of Space Base 8 unexpectedly sent me this just beautiful painting of my main three guys Aldous, Shep, and Doc.  Wow, I just love it. Who wouldn’t! It’s so dimensional and expressive. Now if I can only get him to send me the original!

Canoe Trip

Had a chance to go  on a nice canoe trip with Brian, it was great. Long it has been since I went interior camping, it was something I used to do quite often when I was younger. So it was with pleasure I pulled out my old backpack and headed up north. The stars shone, the bugs were minimal, and all was quiet except for the loons calling each other. Despite the Sunburn from canoing 4 hours before reaching our first 2km portage the trip was awesome, I can’t wait to go again.

3 Panels, 3 Cartoonists

Christopher Baldwin of Space Trawler fame hung around with Brian and I when he wasn’t keeping busy at TCAF, so for fun we decided to all start a three panel strip then pass it around the table, the next person does the middle Panel, then they pass it on and do the last Panel.  It was fun and here are the results!
